The four private charters, reviewed together
The verdict: three of these four listings are close to identical on group cap, trip length and score, two of the three are the same price, and eight of the nine reviews written across all three name the same captain by his first name. I am not going to invent differences between them. The fourth takes fewer people, costs the most of anything on the site and rests on a single review. What actually separates a private charter from the shared boat is not the boat. It is how many of you there are, and that sum is below.

Every one of those prices is for the whole boat, not per person. That is the single most expensive misreading available on this site, because US$650 sitting next to a shared trip at US$79 looks like eight times the price and is not.
Look at the first three rows. Same cap, same score, same review count, and four and a half hours against four to five. The only number that separates them is US$115. If you were hoping this page would tell you which of the three is better, the honest answer is that the listings do not support that claim and neither do the reviews.
Eight of the nine reviews name the same captain
Here is what I noticed reading all nine written reviews across those three separate listings, and it is the reason they share a page. Eight of them name a captain called David. Three listings, three review pools, one first name:

He had so many stories to tell and shared his proud family history - and history - of the Cayman Islands! He also made us some delicious conch ceviche and other island favorite appetizers! I cannot tell you what that means, and I am not going to guess. It could be one boat listed three ways, one skipper working across three operations, or a small pool of charter captains on the North Sound and a common first name. Nothing published anywhere resolves it, and this site does not print operator names in any case. What I will say is that the nine reviews read like descriptions of the same day out, and that a reader deciding between three near-identical listings deserves to know that before they pay US$115 for the difference.
What the nine reviews actually describe
Three separate reviewers, on two different listings, describe the captain diving for conch and preparing it on board:
“My family had an amazing day with Captain David. He is full of local knowledge and so much fun. What a special treat it was when he dove for conch and prepared a snack for us. My family devoured it! My husband and I have done the group tours before and they can“t compete with this experience. We will definitely reach out to Captain David on our return to this beautiful island. “We had an awesome time with Captain David. Please note that this was a 4-5 hour trip which was great. We were able to customize the trip, which you can too. We went to Stingray City and all held the stingrays. David held the stingray with care and was extremely gentle with it. The water was so clear, and there were alot of stingrays. We then went to a snorkeling spot that David knew of where we saw a ton of fish...it was like an aquarium. David made the most delicious fresh conch cerviche. He dove for the conch, showed us how to remove the meat and then made this gourmet cerviche. We also had delicious fresh fruit and his special lemongrass tea. All very delicious. Would highly recommend this activity.”

Do not book expecting conch ceviche. It appears in three reviews and in none of the prices I can quote you. Lynne’s line about customising the route is the more reliable finding, because it is the thing a private boat can do and a fifty-person catamaran cannot: “We were able to customize the trip, which you can too.” If you have a reason to want a particular order of stops, or a longer stop at one of them, that is what you are paying for.
Renee is the only reviewer anywhere on this site who compares the two formats directly, having done both. Her verdict is in her own words above, and she is one person.
The remaining two, for completeness. The second is the only review across all three of those listings that does not name a captain at all, and it is four words long:

The second review on the US$650 charter is not quoted on this page at all. It names the operating company in its closing line, and this site does not print operator names, so rather than cut a review down to a fragment I have left it out and told you it exists. That leaves this page quoting nine of the ten written reviews across the four charters.
The luxury charter: one review, twenty words
Here it is, in full, which is the fastest way to show you what a 5.0 on this site can mean:
“A great half day on the water, I recommend this service, everything ran smoothly.”
That is the entire evidence base for the most expensive product listed here. No first name, no detail, nothing wrong with it, and nothing in it either. A 5.0 from one review is one person, and the same person would have produced a 5.0 on a tour nobody else enjoyed.
The arithmetic is worse than the evidence. US$1,200 with a cap of six is US$200 a head at full capacity, against US$79 on the shared catamaran. It is the one charter here where filling the boat never catches the shared price. If you want it, want it for the boat.
When a private charter is actually the cheaper choice
This is the sum nobody else does, and it decides the whole question. The shared catamaran is US$79 per person. The cheapest charter is US$650 for up to ten people.

Nine people is where the US$650 charter starts costing less than the shared boat, and ten is where the US$765 charters do. Below that you are buying privacy and a route you can change, and paying for it. For two people the gap is US$492. Every price on this page is in US dollars, which is what the booking panel is set to quote. Ashore, a price written “$” is very often CI$, and CI$1 has been pegged at US$1.20 since 1 April 1974. Read a CI$ price as US$ and you are out by 20 per cent. The whole argument is on the dollar trap.
